London, Apr 8 (ANI): Around 120 British police officials have been found guilty of racist behaviour, but only one has been dismissed, according to a report.
Statistics obtained under the UK's Freedom of Information Act showed that despite the nature of the offences, only 12 officers received written warnings and 21 received disciplinary sanctions.
It revealed that of the 21, eight had to pay a fine, six were forced to resign and there was the solitary dismissal, The Daily Mail reports.
According to the paper, the racism took place between 1999 and 2011, the decade after the Macpherson Report branded the Met 'institutionally racist'.
The report revealed that in London alone, officers faced 1,339 allegations of racist behaviour over the past three years, with just 14 of the cases being upheld.
Officers have been reported of calling colleagues 'the token Asian', using the offensive phrases, and saying, 'If you were being raped by a black man, I wouldn't help you.'
Another officer allegedly remarked that Asian families 'are probably terrorists'.
According to the paper, one officer from Norfolk was given a written warning, after he forwarded an email to colleagues with a comment about how Britain 'will become an Islamic state by 2020'. (ANI)
