Warner working hard on his leggies

Barbados, (West Indies) , Sun, 08 Apr 2012 ANI

Barbados, (West Indies), Apr 8(ANI): Australia's stylish opening batsman David Warner has revealed that he is working hard on his leg-spin bowling.

Warner believes the conditions in the Caribbean suits the slower bowlers, therefore, having an extra spin option is always beneficial for the team.

He claimed one of West Indies' three wickets, which fell on the first day of the Barbados Test. It was his maiden international scalp.

"It adds a string to the team as well. If we play two spinners you have an extra spinner there and obviously Michael [Clarke] bowls as well. It's an advantage to the team in these conditions and I'm going to be practicing a lot more in the nets," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Clarke, as saying.

Warner said he had modeled his action on that of former champion Shane Warne, whom he will ask for advice.

"Everything that he's done and everything that I've tried to look at, how he gets his wickets, how he goes about shuffling the batsman across the crease, that's how a bowler would think," Warner said.

"But just to get the opportunity to bowl and just to turn a normal leg spinner is amazing," he added. (ANI)
