UK police official exposed for racially abusing Pakistani shop manager

London, Sat, 07 Apr 2012 ANI

London, Apr 7 (ANI): The racism crisis surrounding Britain's Scotland Yard has deepened as an officer was exposed for racially abusing a Pakistani shop manager.

In an appalling drunken outburst, Philip Juhasz, 31, told takeaway manager Umer Nazir to 'go back to your f****** country'.

The disgraced officer is likely to be sacked for gross misconduct after being convicted of a racially aggravated public order offence.

Nazir, 23, is the victim of one of ten cases referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) by the Met over the last week, The Daily Mail reports.

He suffered abuse from Juhasz while working late at the Delice de France snack kiosk at King's Cross railway station last September.

Nazir said Juhasz, who was off-duty and drunk, demanded food that was about to be thrown away be sold to him for half the price.

When he refused, the officer racially abused him.

"He said, 'Oh, I'll tell you where you're from - you're from Pakistan, and your ******g family are dying from lack of food over there. You are wasting our food in this country, you f****** w*****r. Go back to your f****** country'," the paper quoted Nazir, as saying.

The case is the latest to emerge during a week in which Britain's biggest force has been rocked by accusations of racism.

Last week, a Met official was suspended after he was accused of racially abusing a man arrested during the London riots. (ANI)
