Bidadi (Karnataka), Apr 5 (ANI): Self-proclaimed godman Swami Nityananda has claimed he was being 'framed' in a sex-related case and demanded a CBI probe to unravel the 'truth'.

Recently, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Karnataka had filed an additional chargesheet against Nityananda for allegedly having sexual relations with a U.S.-based individual a few years ago.

Defending himself, Nityananda proclaimed his innocence and said it would be proved by the CBI.

"I am going to ask the court, the high court, asking for a CBI investigation. Let the CBI investigate the whole thing. I will prove my innocence, in the investigation itself, in one day. One day, CBI if they come and investigate the basic details, I will prove my innocence. This is just limitless abuse. I also want to know why it is being done. Who is behind the whole thing?" Nityananda told reporters here.

Nityananda further said the person with whom he had been accused of indulging in a sex act was infact, a child abuser who was facing charges for the crime in the U.S.

"He is a child abuser, a guy who has been arrested for child abuse in the U.S. and facing the trial, he is facing a trial in a Seattle court. One more thing, if he was abused, see I was arrested in March 2010, November 2010 he was arrested in the U.S. If there is something, he should have come out and given the statement at that time. He has not come out. Now, because he is facing the trial, he is using, trying to use this to escape from his case," he added

Nityananda has spiritual centres in Europe and the United States and his trust, 'Dhyanapeetam' runs free medical centres and supplies food to the poor. (ANI)
