Barbados (West Indies), Apr 5(ANI): Australian players are in a confident mood after their three-day tour win over the West Indies Cricket Board President's eleven.ustralia claimed a comfortable eight-wicket win at the 3Ws Oval, taking just over an hour to score the 56 runs required at the start of Wednesday's play.
Despite losing opener Shane Watson and captain Michael Clarke early, Ed Cowan (28 not out) and Ricky Ponting (23 not out) ensure there was no further casualty, as they comfortably achieved the target.
Wicketkeeper Matthew Wade, who watched the game from the sidelines ahead of his Test debut at Kensington Oval, believes the shortened hit-out will be a huge advantage for those who did play, especially the bowling attack.
"Obviously, our top order batters got a couple of hits there and our bowlers got two bowls as well," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Wade, as saying.
"Although it was low-scoring at times, the bowlers especially probably got exactly what they needed leading into the Test match," he added. (ANI)
