Panaji, April 4 (IANS) Two Russian women were molested and robbed and their male friends beaten up late Tuesday night near Varca beach in south Goa, police said. Two suspects were detained.
Police registered a case Wednesday evening and said that two suspects were been detained after the Russian women gave an incomplete number of a motorcycle, which the three assailants were riding.
The complaint was filed by Anand Kumar Sharma, a resident of New Delhi, who was with the Russians at the time of the incident. The complaint was given at the Colva police station.
"Three men on motorcycles stopped the car the Russian women were travelling in along with their friend. They pulled them out of the car. While one person beat the man, the other molested the Russian women and robbed their gold chain and rings," Superintendent of Police (South) Arvind Gawas told IANS Wednesday.
Gawas said that the assailants involved could be local residents.
