New Delhi, April 4 (IANS) President Prathiba Patil Wednesday greeted the nation on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti which will be celebrated Thursday.
In her message, she conveyed her "greetings" and "good wishes" to people.
"May we all resolve to banish violence in thoughts, words and deeds and strive for the establishment of a compassionate and caring society," she said.
Mahavit Jayanti is the birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir, the founder of Jainism.
