Bhopal, April 4 (IANS) An empowered panel of the Madhya Pradesh government has found assets worth over Rs.5 crore of five corrupt officials as fit case for confiscation, officials said Tuesday.
The officers whose disproportionate assets have been found worth confiscation include Brijesh Rai, superintending engineer, Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board (Rs.98 lakh), Teofil Tigga, assistant protocol officer, general administration department (Rs. 68 lakh), Chitrasen Bisen, contractual institution manager (Rs. 1.14 crore), Raman Dhuldhoye, assistant grade-3, transport office (Rs. 1.17) and M.P. Chaturvedi, superintending engineer, Bansagar Project (Rs. 1.45 crore).
The Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta and Economic Offence Wing (EOW) had conducted raids on these officials premises in 2011 and found they owned assets disproportionate to their income.
The Madhya Pradesh Special Courts Act, 2011 has been enforced for prompt hearing of cases pertaining to corruption and confiscation of disproportionate assets acquired illegally.
