Narayan Sahani, 22 was employed in a house in north Delhi's Ashok Vihar. On Feb 19, 2012 while his employers were away, he stole platinum, gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs.1 crore and cash around Rs.4 lakh and fled.

"We got information that the accused was in Jaipur visiting his friend Gopal but the duo managed to escape before we could arrest them," said a police official.

"Thereafter, raids were conducted at various places in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab and about 50 people were questioned," added the official.

As per police, the duo kept shifting base from one village to another to evade arrest and even hid in Nepal for some time.

However, Gopal was arrested April 1 from village Jagatpur in Bihar and the Sahani was arrested shortly after from near the border in Bihar's Madhubani.

According to police, it was Gopal had encouraged Sahani to commit the crime.
