London, Apr 2 (ANI): James Cameron has revealed that he had to redo a part of 'Titanic 3D', after an astronomer sent him a "snarky" email complaining that the stars were in the wrong place for that particular scene.
Niel DeGrasse Tyson accused the original film of having the wrong star field for the time and date, 4.20 am on April 15, 1912, when Kate Winslet's character Rose is seen lying on a piece of driftwood, and claimed the director should have known better.
In response, Cameron challenged him to send the exact star map, which has been included in the re-launched 3D version of the blockbuster.
It is the only major technical change to the film, which will be out in British cinemas on Friday.
"Neil deGrasse Tyson sent me quite a snarky email saying that, at that time of year, in that position in the Atlantic in 1912, when Rose is lying on the piece of driftwood and staring up at the stars, that is not the star field she would have seen," the Telegraph quoted the director as saying.
"And with my reputation as a perfectionist, I should have known that and I should have put the right star field in.
"So I said 'All right, send me the right stars for that exact time and I'll put it in the movie'," he said. (ANI)
