Chennai, April 2 (IANS) The Tamil Nadu Police Monday denied as "totally baseless" a Sri Lankan media report that some 150 Tamil Tigers were being trained in the Indian state.
Director General of Police K. Ramanujam asserted that there was no place for militants and extremist organisations in the state.
A Sri Lankan media report claimed that said 150 cadres of the vanquished Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) underwent special arms training in three secret camps in the state.
Ramanujam said: "There are no such training camps in Tamil Nadu. The report is totally baseless."
"Any LTTE activist identified is lodged in a special camp. There is therefore no question of any training camps functioning or being allowed to function in Tamil Nadu," he added.
