Islamabad, April 2 (IANS) Slain Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden's three widows and two daughters were Monday sentenced to 45 days in jail for illegally living in Pakistan.
Senior Civil Judge Shahrukh Arjumand also ordered them to pay a fine of Rs.10,000 each and asked the government to arrange their repatriation as soon as possible.
Two of Osama's wives are from Saudi Arabia and the third one is from Yemen. They will be deported to their native places with their children after competing their sentence.
"The judge has announced a one-and-a-half-month imprisonment to all the five accused," Zakarya Ahmad Abd al-Fattah, the brother of Osama's Yemeni spouse, told reporters outside the house in Islamabad where the Osama family is being held, Geo TV reported.
They will complete their sentence in the same house where they are being detained.
Pakistan had arrested 16 people, including Osama's family, after the Al Qaeda leader was killed in a secret raid by US commandos May 2 last year on his hideout in Abbottabad.
Muhammad Aamir, the lawyer of Osama's family, said the period of their detention began March 3, when they were formally arrested on charges of illegally entering the country.
