New York, Apr 2 (ANI): Salma Hayek, who looks glamorous despite being in her mid 40s, has revealed that she had bad acne and low self-esteem when she was 25.
The gorgeous 45-year-old Mexican actress opened up in the May issue of Lucky magazine about the self-image issues she suffered from prior to her very successful brush with fame.
"You want to talk about bad skin? I had acne," the New York Daily News quoted her as saying.
"And this acne was so bad, it sent me into a severe, severe depression. Like I couldn't leave the house," she said.
The 'Grown Ups' star also said that having low self-esteem about her skin then led her to eat.
"The next stage with that sort of depression is food: too little, or too much.
"Guess what I did? I mean, I was fat and broken out, I couldn't leave the house and I couldn't pay the rent!" she said.
Hayek, who currently owns her own beauty line Nuance, added that it didn't help that she had an immense sweet tooth as well.
"I like to eat.
"I'm always on the edge of how much can I eat without looking too - you know. If I eat something salty, it makes me want something sweet.
"I eat something sweet, then I want salty. And exercise is not my thing, though I do it," she added. (ANI)
