London, Apr 1(ANI): In an astounding move, Manchester United's American owners, the Glazer family, is planning to move the club to New York, as they plan to exploit United as a profitable global business.
The officials at United are sure that they could generate even bigger crowds and more finance by relocating to the US.
If this move gets materialized then United would possibly play in the 82,000-seater MetLife Stadium, home of the New York Giants and Jets.
United would remain in the Barclays Premier League, and play their away games in England.
But ironically the only game in Manchester would be at the Etihad when they face rivals City.
Sources in the US have also suggested that the Glazers are interested to bring back former United midfielder David Beckham to the club in order to boost club's commercial value.
The Glazer family is looking to soften the blow on United supporters by organizing cheap flights between Manchester and New York for 'home' games.
The Mirror quoted United fans representative, April Olof, as saying: "It's an exciting -prospect, but we have so many traveling fans, especially from -Surrey. They will be disappointed that the flights to New York are only planned from Manchester." (ANI)
