Chinese woman poisons herself, three kids

Beijing, April 1 (IANS) A Chinese woman poisoned herself and her three children with pesticide because she could not cope with life's pressures. All are in hospital and her two daughters have suffered kidney failure.

Tang Chengfang, 27, added pesticide to sugar and fed it to her two daughters, aged five and seven, and her eight-month-old son in Dazhu in Sichuan province while their father was at work.

She then consumed the lethal concoction herself, the China Daily reported.

A doctor said all three children were unable to eat and can barely speak because their throats have been damaged.

The woman's husband said his wife once tried to commit suicide because she had a headache.

He said she might be too tired bringing up three children. "She may be depressed," he said.
