Windies level series, defeat Aussies by 14 runs in final T20

Barbados (West Indies), Mar 31(ANI): West Indies have drawn the two-match Twenty20 series against Australia 1-1, after beating them by 14 runs in the second match at Kensington, Oval.

Australia was well set to chase the Windies target of 161, but a brilliant run-out by Dwayne Bravo to dismiss David Warner, triggered the home team into action as Australia ended on 9-146 in reply.

Warner scored 58 off 43 balls, as Australia appeared to be in control during their chase, but his spectacular run-out dismissal, and a spirited bowling performance from the Windies ended their chances of claiming theirs first overseas T20 series win in seven years.

Fast-bowler Fidel Edwards and spinner Marlon Samuels starred for the Windies, as both finished with 3-23 off their four overs, while Bravo took two wickets in the final over to finish with 2-27.

Earlier, opener Dwayne Smith belted his maiden T20 international half-century as the Windies made 160 batting first. He smacked 63 off just 35 deliveries, including six fours and four sixes.

A late dramatic batting collapse in the Windies innings saw them losing eight wickets for 50 runs.

Brett Lee took 3-23 to lead Australia's bowling effort while Clint McKay (2-24) and Shane Watson (2-26) backed them up with two wickets each. (ANI)
