London, Mar 31(ANI): Manchester United striker Michael Owen hopes to help his team clinch their 20th Premier League title, as he is on the verge of making a comeback, after being sidelined from the team since November due to a thigh problem.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is excited to have his veteran striker back in the team, and is of the opinion that Owen can score a crucial title-winning goal, as the season reaches it's climax.
Even, Owen wants to repay the faith Ferguson has shown in him, despite of making just four appearances this season.
"Let's hope he's right. I know that if he's in need of a goal and he puts me on, then I'll certainly be hoping and thinking that I could do what he's said. It's been a tough few months, seeing the lads running out one way to the pitches and me walking another to the gym," The Sun quoted Owen, as saying.
"The end is nearly in sight. I've just started training again so hopefully in a few weeks I'll be back and hopefully available for selection," he added. (ANI)
