New Delhi, March 29 (IANS) Leading direct selling company Avon Beauty Products India Thursday announced the appointment of Ujjwal Sankar Mukhopadhyay as its new managing director.
"He will be responsible for driving growth and the expansion of the company's market share in India. His extensive knowledge and vast experience will provide a new direction to the company in India," a company statement said.
Mukhopadhyay has been associated with Avon as director (Supply Chain) and has over 20 years of experience in consumer packaged goods as well as an in-depth knowledge of many areas of supply chain such as planning, sourcing, manufacturing and distribution and logistics. He succeeds Hemant Singh, who spent three years with Avon India.
India is an important market and as Avon transforms itself into a fully integrated, agile and more innovative global company, Mukhopadhyay's deep business insights and outstanding leadership will be instrumental in enhancing the brand value in the country.
"Avon is strongly poised to take the growth trajectory to the next level. We have quadrupled over business in India over the last three years and which is a clear indication that it is clear that Avon's offerings, both from an opportunity perspective as well as product, is well accepted," Mukhopadhyay said.
