Naxals kill 15 CRPF personnel in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Mar.27 (ANI): Suspected Naxalites killed at least 15 personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Tuesday.

The incident took place in Maharashtra's Pushtola District. The CRPF personnel were reportedly travelling in a bus from Pushtola to Gatta for an operational duty, when they were killed by a landmine blast.

CRPF Director General K Vijay Kumar was in the Gadchiroli area, and reportedly on his way to the attack spot.

CRPF officials said casualty figures could rise, even as a reinforcement team has been rushed to the area.

Home Minister R R Patil was expected to make a statement in the Assembly on the attack. (ANI)
