Mumbai, Mar.27 (ANI): Business magnate Mukesh Ambani hosted a gala party on Monday at his residence, Antilia, here to hail master batsman Sachin Tendulkar's century of centuries in international cricket.
A large number of celebrities and politicians attended the event.
Tendulkar's contemporaries Sourav Ganguly and Anil Kumble were also present.
Tendulkar, who has scored more than 15,000 runs in Tests and also 18,000 runs in ODIs (one day internationals), became the first cricketer to score 100 international centuries during an Asia Cup one-day match against Bangladesh at Mirpur on March 16.
Since his debut against Pakistan in 1989, he has amassed nearly 34,000 international runs and scored his 100th century against Bangladesh this month to cement his place as statistically the greatest batsman.
Recently speaking at a function in Mumbai, Tendulkar said he was in no hurry to retire and refused to rule himself out of the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
India won the World Cup at home last April after a gap of 28 years and will defend their title when the next edition is held in New Zealand and Australia in early 2015. (ANI)
