London, Mar 25 (ANI): Martina Navratilova walked through The Grove shopping centre in Los Angeles on Friday with her dance partner Tony Dovolani to promote 'Dancing With the Stars'.
The 55-year-old tennis player and her partner were mobbed by fans at the shopping centre, the Daily Mail reported.
The former world number 1, who won a record 18 Grand Slam singles titles, savoured her renewed fame.
Dressed for comfort in white trousers, a long sleeved green shirt and sandals, Navratilova chatted with shoppers and posed for pictures, before settling in for an interview with Extra reporter Renee Bargh.
The sports icon looked delighted to be promoting her dancing stint, flipping her hair throughout the interview.
There was no sign of her dancing competitor Maria Menounos, who is co-host of Extra.
In addition to her Dancing duties, Navratilova is a champion for individual freedom and a pioneer for human rights.
At age 18, she left communist Czechoslovakia and sought political asylum and freedom in the United States.
After receiving her US Citizenship in 1981, Martina publicly acknowledged that she is gay at a time when such announcements came at great personal cost to public figures.
In 2010, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
She underwent surgery and six-weeks of radiation and six months later announced she was cancer-free. (ANI)
