Guwahati, March 24 (IANS) Sports Journalists' Association of Mumbai (SJAM) picked up two more team titles at the 36th National Convention of the Sports Journalists' Federation of India (SJFI) here.
SJAM has now claimed five titles and one runners-up position. Abhijit Kulkarni, Ashwin Ferro and Subodh Mayure sank free throws to win the Free Throws event that attracted 12 units. The competition was played at the Don Bosco School courts here Friday.
SJAM, represented by Abhijit Kulkarni, Ashwin Ferro and Gordon D'Costa beat Calcutta Sports Journalists' Club 3-2 in the Penalty Kicks competition played under lights at the Nehru Stadium. Thirteen teams took part in the shootout.
Earlier, SJAM had won the A.C. Bali Table Tennis team title, men's singles and doubles titles and finished runners-up in the Ten Sports Olympic quiz.
