Mumbai, March 24 (IANS) A fight between two women over water took an ugly turn after one of them poured kerosene on the other and set her on fire, killing her, police said Saturday.
The incident took place in Dhule district, around 400 km from here.
The victim, Kamalbai Jirase, 45, and the accused, Meena Koli, lived in adjoining rented rooms. On Thursday, they fought over filling water from a single tap in their locality, a police official told IANS.
"Suddenly Koli poured kerosene over Jirase and threw a lit matchstick on her. Jirase succumbed to her injuries Friday," he added. Koli has been arrested.
