Washington, Mar 23(ANI): Robbie Williams, who puffed 40 cigarettes a day, has reportedly quit his habit for starting a family with wife Ayda Field.
The 38-year-old singer had earlier given up drinking after getting addicted to drugs and alcohol following his 1995 departure from pop group 'Take That'.
"So far he hasn't smoked in ten days. He wants to start a family with Ayda soon, so it's a good move," Contactmusic quoted a source as telling the Sun.
"He's also in training for the Unicef Soccer Aid match at Old Trafford in May, so he'll need to be fit."
Williams joined rehab on his 33rd birthday after getting addicted to prescription medication.
He believed that if his management team hadn't stepped in to save him, he would have had a heart attack.
"I had a big blow up on a Monday night and then on Tuesday I was on a sofa coming in and out of consciousness.
"Then I heard their voices and I thought, 'its Tuesday. They are supposed to be here on Wednesday. I bet you I'm going to rehab today," he told GQ magazine.
"They sat down opposite me and said, "Rob, you look f***ing awful". I said, 'I'll go to rehab, you don't have to say f***ing nasty things to me.
"They had a plane waiting for me. They packed my bags and I got on it thankfully. I might have been a couple of days or 24 hours from dying. I was on this plane kicking the seats, I was so angry with myself that I had let myself get into that place again," he added. (ANI)
