New Delhi, March 23 (IANS) The Planning Commission Friday approved a Rs.3,700 crore outlay for Himachal Pradesh for the financial year beginning April 1.
A Planning Commission panel headed by Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia approved the plan outlay at a meeting with the state representatives, led by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal.
After the meeting, Dhumal said social services topped the priority list with an allocation of 32.15 percent. It is followed by transport and communication sector with 21.05 percent of the plan size.
The chief minister said his government attached importance to the energy sector and would involve the private sector in developing hydel power.
