Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), March 23 (IANS) It will be some time before the chargesheet in the massive National Rural Health Mission scam in Uttar Pradesh is filed, the director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said here Friday.
'The CBI will take quite some time to submit the chargesheet in the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam case. It has spread to 72 districts in Uttar Pradesh. The CBI has so far screened 50 districts. The rest of the districts would be screened soon. But the agency would nab all the guilty, whoever they are - politician or bureaucrat of any reach,' CBI Director Amar Pratap Singh told mediapersons on the sidelines of the 15th batch investiture ceremony of CBI sub-inspectors.
The director stressed that the CBI would work on the case along professional lines -- effectively, steadily and firmly.
The NRHM scam in Uttar Pradesh deals with the alleged swindling of central funds to the tune of Rs.250 crore in NRHM projects -- mainly concerned with construction and upgradation works in hospitals across the state.
The CBI has so far registered 12 cases in the probe initiated by it on the direction of the Allahabad High Court.
