Panaji, March 23 (IANS) After nearly three years of delay, investigating authorities have finally managed to record the statement of Swedish model Lucky Farmhouse, whose video footage uploaded on the internet had exposed the police-politician-drug mafia nexus in Goa.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Deputy Inspector General Pravin Salunke said the statement had been recorded by the Swedish police last week and had been passed on to the federal investigation agency by Interpol.
"She (Farmhouse) has deposed in the Swedish language. We need to translate the entire statement and further investigate the case," Salunke said Friday.
A letters rogatory had been issued through a local court on the request of the CBI to the Swedish police with a list of questions which Farmhouse has responded to.
Three years back Farmhouse's videos uploaded on www.youtube.com showing her former boyfriend and drug dealer Yaniv Benaim alias Atala boasting of his contacts to the police, had laid bare the notorious police-politician-drug mafia nexus here.
After the videos hit the media here, Atala was arrested along with seven other policemen who were arrested and suspended from service.
The Opposition had accused then home minister Ravi Naik's son of being part of the drug nexus and demanded a CBI probe into the affair.
