London, Mar 22(ANI): England batsman Jonathan Trott along with captain Andrew Strauss scored centuries in the final warm up game in Sri Lanka, but ominously for England, middle-order batsman Ian Bell once again failed to post a good score.
Bell was out for 14 on day two of England's final warm-up match, which means he has managed just 125 runs in 14 innings since the end of the 2011 home summer.
But it is understood that the right-hander's proven class will probably be enough for him to play in the first Test in Galle on Monday, but his spot is certainly under examination.
However, Trott didn't had any such problems on a day when England players drank almost four hundred bottles of water to adjust with the sweating conditions in Sri Lanka.
Trott is confident that Bell would soon return to form as he is in a good touch.
"We have to manage our hydration and stuff like that, as we must be able to bat for long periods of time. We've been training really hard in the hottest part of the day so hopefully we can reap the benefits," The Sun quoted Trott, as saying.
"Ian had a few bad Tests in the UAE but I've played a lot of cricket with him for Warwickshire and England and know him pretty well, and he looks in good touch. He'll be okay," he added. (ANI)
