Washington, Mar 21 (ANI): Barack Obama's eldest daughter Malia, who was in Mexico on Tuesday, is said to be fine even though the country was hit by an earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale.
Malia, 13, is on vacation in southwestern Mexico's Oaxaca as part of a school-sponsored service project.
"In light of today's earthquake, we can confirm that Malia Obama is safe and was never in danger," People magazine quoted the First Lady's communications director Kristina Schake as saying in a written statement on Tuesday.
The quake, which initially hit Oaxaca, sent aftershocks through Mexico City. (ANI)
