New Delhi, Mar 16 (ANI): Ayushmann Khurrana believes that the stress and pressure of daily life has led to the decrease in sperm count of males over the past ten years.
The actor's forthcoming film 'Vicky Donor' is a romantic comedy based on sperm donation and infertility. It marks the debut of John Abraham as a producer.
Khurrana recently walked the ramp in Mumbai with co-star, model-actress Yami Gautam, to promote the flick.
"Well I think it's a very noble cause, people should donate their sperm. There has been a considerable decrease in the sperm count of boys. In the last ten years, there has been a 15 percent decrease in the sperm count of boys, so I think it's because of the stress and all the pressure of daily walks of life. The sperm donations has become really popular these days, nobody talks about it though," he said.
Talking about the movie, Gautam said that though it is a light-hearted comedy it could spread awareness about an important but not much talked-about issue.
"This film is a romantic comedy where a Punjabi boy, Vicky Arora, falls for a Bengali girl, Ashima Roy, and how the story goes about, because they are not only different in the personality but the whole family background and cultures just in contrast.
"And the backdrop we have concept like sperm donation. So how all these elements gelled in together, very light hearted comedy way, that's Vicky Donor's all about," she said.
The film has been directed by Shoojit Sircar and will be released on April 20 this year. (ANI)
