Sydney, Mar 15(ANI): Stand in Australian captain is up and ready for the West Indies tour despite having major selection worries before the commencement of the tour.
Watson has just two specialist fast bowlers at his disposal in Brett Lee and Clint McKay for the first one-day international at the Arnos Vale Cricket Ground in St Vincent.
Ben Hilfenhaus was ruled out on Wednesday, having missed training earlier in the week due to a virus, while young gun James Pattinson is still trying to conquer a strained buttock muscle.
Luckily for him, he and fellow all rounder Dan Christian can prove good options with their bowling during the tour.
Watson is confident that his long experience with arguably one of the best cricket team ever, Australia, will play a massive role during the Caribbean tour.
"It's just a really enjoyable time to be able to try and bring across the way I love playing cricket," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Watson, as saying.
"Throughout my 10 years of being around international cricket with one of the most dominant sides we've produced I've learnt a lot about how the Australian team can play at their best," he said.
"I'm just really excited I've been able to lead a team of very high quality and talented individuals but I also know exactly what's required to be able to win," he added. (ANI)
