London, Mar. 13 (ANI): Former Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton says he is heading for a successful new phase of his career as he prepares to start season with the Australian Grand Prix
Hamilton launches into a new Grand Prix season today with a vow not to lose the plot like he did in 2011.
The 27-year-old 2008 champion believes he is fitter, stronger, wiser and better prepared than ever before and truly ready for the longest season in the sport's history.
The Sun quoted him, as saying: "I hope it's a new phase and a new stage in my life, but the only way I will know that will be from the results and I can't predict what will happen."
He added: "Every year, you feel as though you have prepared better but you get to the first race and lots of things happen. I will just take every race as it comes, keep my head screwed on and my feet on the ground for the whole year."
Hamilton further said: "I still have the excitement as when I first started racing," he added. "Even today, messing around the in McLaren GT3 sportscar the other day I was like a kid with a new toy. I can't wait to get out in an F1 car again."
The omens are good for the coming season. (ANI)
