London, Mar 12(ANI): Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney believes they certainly deserve to stay at the top of the league table, and believes that the club isn't getting its due plaudits.
Rooney said the number of injury woes United has had to deal with, and still manage to sit on the top, just shows the real character of the team.
Wayne Rooney scored his second brace in as many matches, and helped United clinch their seventh victory in their past eight Barclays Premier League games to replace Manchester City at the top of the table.
"I don't think we have got the credit we deserve recently. We haven't always played our best but we have got the wins. We deserve to be top," The Daily Mail quoted Rooney, as saying.
"Credit to the players and the resilience of the squad because everyone knows we have had a lot of injuries. We needed that performance after the disappointment of Thursday against (Athletic) Bilbao," he said. (ANI)
