Kuala Lumpur, Mar.12 (ANI): The third India-Malaysia Foreign Office Consultations were held here today in Putrajaya.
Sanjay Singh, Secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India and Tan Sri Dato' Mohd. Radzi bin Abdul Rahman, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Malaysia, led their respective teams at the talks.
The two secretaries held detailed discussions on all aspects of the bilateral relationship, and in particular on the follow up to the understanding and agreements reached at the 5th Joint Commission Meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries, which was held in Kuala Lumpur last May.
They agreed that the India-Malaysia Strategic Partnership is an important component in the foreign policies of both countries and agreed to work together to deepen the partnership through implementation of the vision outlined by the two prime ministers in the joint statement issued in Kuala Lumpur on October 27, 2010.
The two secretaries also discussed bilateral collaboration on India-ASEAN commemorative events. ingh also called on Malaysian Senator and Deputy Foreign Minister Kohillan Pillay.
At a separate meeting in Putrajaya, Singh and Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail, Attorney General of Malaysia, signed a treaty between India and Malaysia on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters. (ANI)
