London, Mar 11(ANI): World number one golfer Rory McIlroy has claimed that his Masters meltdown took him to the crossroads of his career from where he could have easily gone downhill.
McIlroy held a four-shot lead at Augusta last year but fell apart with a nightmare final-round 80.
"It was definitely a defining moment. It was a big crossroads for me in my career. I could have let it get to me and maybe go into a slump or feel down," the Sun quoted McIlroy as saying.
"But I had enough good people around me not to let that happen. I was able to go down the right path and do the right things to win the next Major," he added. (ANI)
