Dunedin, Mar 11(ANI): The Dunedin test between New Zealand and South Africa ended in a draw after rain prevented the Kiwis from resuming play from their overnight score of 137-2 in their chase of the 401 run target.
The rain was forecast to clear this afternoon but it didn't and umpires Billy Doctrove and Aleem Dar called the game off at 2pm(local time),stuff.co.nz reports.
Both teams will now head to Hamilton for the second Test, with the series tied 0-0 and the series will still be alive for the third in Wellington.
It also implies that South Africa, who needed to win the three match series 3-0 to become the No 1 team in the world, has missed the target.
Meanwhile, New Zealand will name the squad for the second Test tomorrow.
