Frank Lampard 'disgusted' by paedophile uncle

London, Sun, 11 Mar 2012 ANI

London, Mar 11 (ANI): Frank Lampard's uncle has been revealed as a paedophile who tried to groom a 13-year-old girl for internet sex.

The Chelsea star, 33, said that he was "disgusted" after Paul Lamb, 36, was unmasked as a predatory pervert.

"He is disgusted by his actions," the Sun quoted a spokesman for Lampard as saying.

Lamb, of Bacup, Lancashire, was caught in a police sting wherein he was led to believe he was "talking" to a girl called Jessica. The name was an alias of an undercover cop, and Lamb was hauled into court.

His 61-year-old wife Gwen is the sister of Lampard's dad, Frank Snr and his appearance in the dock shocked the family.

The Chelsea fan got a kick out of starting a filthy MSN Messenger conversation with "Jessica," Burnley Crown Court heard.

When told she was 13, he replied, "Wow - you're young."

He asked if her mum read her "chats" as he tried to discover if she was supervised or monitored while online.

An unemployed Lamb then asked the schoolgirl if she was a virgin. He incited her to engage in sex acts during three conversations.

After police seized his computer he denied any improper behaviour, claiming the chatroom was for adults, but later admitted he had done it for sexual gratification and was ashamed.

He also accepted that it was him who had initiated the chat and confessed he knew "Jessica" was only 13.

Lamb, described in court as "socially isolated", pleaded guilty to three counts of attempting to cause a child to engage in sexual activity.

He was given a suspended one-year prison term and disqualified from working with children for ten years.

Additionally, he was ordered not to use an Internet device unless it displays a site history and is available for inspection by police. (ANI)
