Imran calls on Pak leaders who got funds from ISI to quit politics

Islamabad, Sat, 10 Mar 2012 ANI

Islamabad, Mar 10 (ANI): Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf Chief Imran Khan has said leaders who received funds from secret agencies like the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) should quit politics, adding that he would have done the same had he been charged with such a crime.

He said Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was appearing in the Supreme Court for protecting the president though he faced charges of manipulating billions of rupees.

Khan insisted that his party would rid Pakistanis of colonial-era laws and corrupt politicians and bureaucracy, adding that the police and patwari culture would be transformed for the convenience of the masses.

"The leaders of PPP and PML-N are united to protect their money and power. Both the party heads have joined hands to bring a caretaker set-up that will take care of their interests," The Dawn quoted him, as saying.

Khan said his party after coming to power would introduce a new social and administrative system that would serve people at the grass-root level. (ANI)
