Abbey Clancy says hubby Peter Crouch handles attention better than her

London, Mar 10 (ANI): Abbey Clancy admits that she doesn't think of herself as a celebrity and her husband, England footballer Peter Crouch, handles fame better than she does.

Clancy had a short-lived career as singer in the girl band Genie Queen before reinventing herself as a model, coming second in the TV show 'Britain's Next Top Model'.

She has since starred in the reality TV series 'Abbey And Janice: Beauty And The Best', competed in 'Hell's Kitchen' and co-hosted ITV2's 'The Fashion Show'.

Despite allegations that Crouch had been unfaithful to her, the couple married in July 2011.

Now 26, she lives in Cheshire with her husband and their baby daughter Sophia Ruby.

Clancy says that she is still surprised when someone asks for her autograph, as she "doesn't feel worthy of being asked".

"It was never my ambition to be famous, it's just a by-product of what I do, but I don't think of myself as a celebrity at all. Peter gets a lot more attention than me. If I've learnt anything from him, it's how to deal with attention gracefully," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.

"He's got a lot more patience than me. I'm not one to complain but it can be awful when all I want to do is walk around the park and you've got five photographers following you. I'd quite like to be Madonna for a day to see how she copes with it all.

However, the former model does admit that she has liked being the centre of attention in the past.

"I got thrown out of ballet class because I spent all my time posing in the mirror.

"I always loved being the centre of attention. In anything, I always had to be the leader. The one thing about me that's never changed is that I've always liked to get my own way," she said. (ANI)
