London, Mar 10(ANI): Tottenham Hotspurs' manager Harry Redknapp's son, Jamie, has expressed concerns about the prospect of his father taking over as the next England manager.
Former England international, Jamie has confided to his pals that he is worried, as his father would be subjected to immense stress and pressure once he takes the England manager's job.
Redknapp senior is the popular public choice to succeed Fabio Capello, who resigned a month ago from the post of England manager.
The Football Association is likely to make a move for Redknapp, but Spurs will battle to keep Redknapp after his outstanding season, The Mirror reports.
Efforts to retain Redknapp are already in place as Spurs' chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly prepared to give him a new contract and spending power to build on the club's recent success.
Redknapp has overtly admitted he would find the England job hard to resist and also says that he turns to his son, Jamie, first for advice.
It is evident that there are concerns from within Redknapp's family about the pressure the England job would take, especially as he would have to commute to the FA's new St George's Park base in the midlands.
Redknapp, who took time out to undergo a heart operation earlier this season, currently lives on the south coast. (ANI)
