Bangalore, Mar 9 (ANI): Karnataka strongman B.S. Yeddyurappa has said that he is confident that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will reinstate him as chief minister of the state.
"I have got 100 percent confidence that they will take some appropriate decision as they had promised previously. The high command knows what has to be done," Yeddyurappa said.
"It is left to the high command, I do not want to force anything. Now I am happy because believe it or not, in the last six months I suffered a lot. Now I can go anywhere in front of the public confidently that I am a clean man in this particular case," he added.
Yeddyurappa's comments came a day after the Karnataka High Court quashed a case filed against him in connection with an illegal mining case.
Yeddyurappa had earlier last month said that he has been promised by BJP President Nitin Gadkari that he will be reinstated as chief minister of the state at an appropriate time.
Former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde's inquiry into mining graft in Karnataka had accused Yeddyurappa and other key officials for causing a loss of at least 160 billion rupees to the state exchequer between 2006 and 2010.
Yeddyurappa tendered his resignation on July 31 to Karnataka Governor Hansraj Bhardwaj, following allegations of corruption. (ANI)
