Washington, Mar 9 (ANI): The house that served as a setting for the 1990 smash hit 'Home Alone' has been sold for 1 million dollar less than its asking price after being on the market for a year.
Nestled in the Chicago suburb of Winnetka, Illinois, the 4,243 square-foot home was listed last May with a 2.4 million-dollar price tag, but according to the Chicago Sun-Times, it sold on Thursday for just 1.585 million dollars.
The four-bedroom, five-bathroom piece of cinematic history was bought by John and Cynthia Abednshien in 1988 for 875,000 dollars.
It is instantly recognizable, as it was made famous by the hit Macaulay Culkin flick.
"Very few homes have a leading role in a movie, in a sense becoming an additional character," Radar Online quoted realtor Marissa Hopkins as saying.
'Home Alone' made more than 476 million dollars worldwide and spawned two sequels, cementing Culkin as the premiere child star of the 90s. (ANI)
