Mining mafia kills IPS officer in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, Mar 8 (ANI): An Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Narendra Kumar posted in Banmore town in Madhya Pradesh's Morena District was allegedly killed by mining mafia on Thursday.


Kumar was mowed down by a tractor laden with illegally-quarried stones when he tried to stop it.


The driver of the tractor, Manoj Gujjar, has been taken into custody.


State Home Minister Umashankar Gupta has confirmed the incident and said that action will be taken against the guilty.


An IPS officer of 2009 batch, Kumar was posted at Banmore town on probation 45 days ago. (ANI)
