I was nominated for 'Mum of the Year' to get people 'talkin about it', says Natasha Giggs

London, Mar 7 (ANI): Natasha Giggs has claimed that she made it to the list of 'Celebrity Mum Of The Year' award just to garner people's attention.

The scandalous beauty, who got (in) famous after her eight year affair with her husband Rhodri's brother, footballer Ryan Giggs became public, has been pitted against the likes of Danielle Lloyd, Katie Price and Holly Willoughby for the title.

Following a torrent of online abuse, Natasha took to her social networking website, Twitter, to defend herself.

"For the losers STILL on at me 4 bein up 4 mum of the year can u not see I was nominated to get u all talkin about it? And u fell 4 it #mugs," the Daily Mail quoted her as tweeting.

Some of the hate tweets directed at Natasha read:"Natasha Giggs...Mother of the year? That's a bit of a joke isn't it. Kids I've been s***ging your uncle... Anyone for ice cream?" one hater tweeted.

"Natasha Giggs nominated for Mother of the Year? Whaaaat? Who is on the shortlist for Father of the Year? Joseph Fritzl??" another user tweeted.

A third user seemed to focus on Natasha's celebrity status rather than her parenting skills.
