Sydney, Mar 7 (ANI): All rounder Dwayne Bravo and fast bowler Tino Best have been recalled to the West Indies' squad for the opening three matches of the one-day international series against Australia.
The 13-player squad was announced on Tuesday with the five-match series starting in St Vincent on March 16.
Best, who has played 14 tests and 12 ODIs since his debut in 2003, hasn't played for the West Indies for two and a half years, but he was a standout in the Caribbean Twenty20 tournament in January.
Commenting on the squad, Chairman of WICB Selection Panel Clyde Butts confirmed that Ravi Rampaul was sidelined due to illness, while openers Lendl Simmons (finger) and Adrian Barath (finger) are injured.
"They will be sorely missed because they were two of our most consistent players in this format of the game over the last year," he said.
Butts was however, upbeat about the inclusion of opener Johnson Charles, as well as the recall of Tino Best and the return of experienced all-rounder Dwayne Bravo.
Bravo hasn't represented West Indies since June, when he pulled out midway through the ODI home series against India to "refocus and reflect" on his game. Since then, he has played in Twenty20 tournaments in India, Australia and Bangladesh. (ANI)
