Whitney Houston's family says she was murdered

London, Wed, 07 Mar 2012 ANI

London, Mar 7 (ANI): Whitney Houston's family members have claimed that her death was a murder.

The coroner investigating her death has been receiving calls and emails saying that her death was no accident.

It is alleged that the crime was carried out by the singer's family and some of those making the claims say that they are Houston's relatives.

Others say they are from the family of her ex-husband Bobby Brown, 43.

The disturbing tip-offs came as the late pop star's daughter Bobbi, 19, wept on TV as she talked of her loss with Oprah Winfrey, 58.

Bobbi broke down when Winfrey asked Houston's sister-in-law Patricia Houston and brother Gary "Does it feel real that she's gone yet?"

The murder allegations are in messages to coroner Ed Winter.

"Calls and emails have been coming in thick and fast claiming her death was no accident. They have been made by several people, some claiming to be relatives of Whitney and some relatives of her ex-husband," the Daily Star quoted a source as saying.

Others claim she was killed by people wanting her cash. The source added that the callers were not being dismissed as cranks as "every call is taken seriously".

Investigators have said there was no sign of foul play. They hope results of tests will show what substances Houston had taken.

The Coroner's Office in Los Angeles said that the investigation was ongoing.

Fans of the singer have filled chatrooms with theories on how she may have been killed.

"They need to investigate. She was used to mixing drugs and alcohol for years - it's unlikely that killed her," one wrote.

Ex-lawyer Nancy Grace, 52, said a killer may have held the diva under the water in the hotel bath she died in on February 11. (ANI)
