Islamabad, Mar 7 (ANI): The Pakistan Supreme Court has adjourned a contempt of court case hearing against Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani till March 8.
Defence and Cabinet Secretary, Nargis Sethi acknowledged that two summaries were sent to Gilani by the law ministry, The Dawn reports.
A seven-judge SC bench, headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk, ordered Gilani's counsel Aitzaz Ahsan to submit appropriate evidence pertaining to the case, on which, the counsel had submitted the summaries.
Justice Nasirul Mulk said that the documents should have been submitted by the counsel before the starting of proceedings.
Nargis Sethi informed the court she had been the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister from December 15, 2008 till January 17, 2011.
She said the responsibility of the Principal Secretary is to assist Prime Minister to perform tasks related to the public affairs.
The court asked that Sethi's written statement be recorded.
Ahsan complained that the court did not let him ask few questions.
On February 28, Ahsan had said referring to the various arguments on appeal that he wanted to present evidences and witnesses and that a chance should be granted to him to examine them. (ANI)
