China to tackle international issues through dialogue: Jiechi

Beijing, Mar 6(ANI): China aims to uphold peace and tackle challenging regional and international issues through dialogue, consultation and negotiation, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi has said.

Jiechi said China expects neighboring countries to peacefully handle and resolve differences and disagreements with his country through dialogue and negotiation.

He stressed that maintaining sound ties is the common responsibility of both China and the United States, which is in the overall interest of the international community, The China Daily reports.

He added that both countries should adhere to principles laid down in three Sino-US joint communiques and the Sino-US joint statement, and respect each other's core interests and major concerns.

He called on the US to cautiously and properly handle issues related to Chinese core interests such as Taiwan and Tibet.hina has maintained a close communication with the US on the issues of Syria and Iran, he said.

Jiechi said that the Iran nuclear issue should be resolved through dialogues and cooperation rather than confrontation and sanctions. (ANI)
