Spurs' striker Saha tried to get back to sleep by wrapping bandages around his head

London, Mar 4(ANI): Tottenham Hotspurs' striker Louis Saha's new home in London is so close to a railway track, that he even tried to get back to sleep by wrapping bandages around his head.

The striker was looking forward to a decent life at his Docklands apartment, but was woken up by a train hurtling past a few feet from his window.

"That's it! That's the train that got me out of bed! I couldn't believe it. It went past my window and made so much noise the whole place shook, I shook. For a few moments I thought I was in New York, not London," The Sun quoted Saha, as saying.

"On top of that, I had no blinds or curtains so the sun was streaming in through the window. It was so bright. I tried to get back to sleep by wrapping bandages around my head and over my eyes to try to make the room darker. I hate to think what people might have thought if they had seen me," he added.

Despite long battles with an unrelenting knee problem the 33-year-old who joined Fulham in 2000 is the longest serving foreign outfield player in the Premier League.

And only his new Tottenham teammate, American keeper Brad Friedel, and Fulham's Aussie Mark Schwarzer beat him in any position. (ANI)
