Jammu and Kashmir Police organises talent hunt show to connect with youth

Srinagar, Mar 3 (ANI): The Jammu and Kashmir Police organised a talent hunt named 'Chuna Hai Aasman' (we want to touch the sky) programme in an attempt to build a friendlier relationship with the youth of the state.

The talent hunt programme, which entered its second season, presented an opportunity for the state's youth to display their talents.

"There is a lot of hidden talent here which is not getting the required platform. We are trying to provide that platform. Last year, the first season of 'Choona Hai Aasman' was organised where competitions were organised in each district, at the regional, zonal and state levels," said Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Abdul Ghani Mir.

The event saw enthusiastic participation by local youth, who said that they wanted to prove themselves as talented as compared to people anywhere else in the country.

"Through such programmes, the youth of the state get an opportunity to display their talents. I think the government should support such events, and so should the Kashmiri people, because these things will help us move forward," said a participant, Zubair Ahmad.

The talent hunt programme is one of many initiatives taken up by security forces, including the army, to reach out to Kashmiris and reduce the gaping trust deficit. (ANI)
